MCAT = The Medical College Admission Test is an entrance exam required by most medical colleges. Most students take the test during the spring semester of their third year of study. Completing all science requirements is highly recommended before attempting the MCAT.
AMCAS = American Medical College Application Service is used by medical colleges as a way of centralizing the application process. Applicants submit one application and indicate medical schools in which they have an interest. The application is usually completed during the fourth year of study (or one year prior to when the student plans to enroll in medical school).
